We announce position openings up to two postdoc researchers in the computational condensed matter, especially for correlated systems and high-pressure physics. The projects will be lead by Professor Ji Hoon Shim (POSTECH, republic of Korea, http://dmft.postech.ac.kr/) and Duck Young Kim (HPSTAR, China, http://hpstar.ac.cn/), jointly. Successful applicants will have ample opportunity to work at both research bodies in Korea and China to collaborate with in-house experimentalists as well as to have full access to computational research resources of both groups.
1) correlated materials study: We study strongly correlated electron system covering heavy fermion, transition metal compounds, as well as molecular orbital system. Using density function theory combined with many body physics, we investigate the correlated electron phenomena in the change of pressure, temperature, doping, Hund's coupling etc.
2) high-pressure physics We study materials under high pressure including structural phase transition, physical property change of materials. We have many collaborators in experiments who can synthesize/measure the computationally predicted materials.
We are searching for motivated independent researchers in the field of computational physics, chemistry, and materials science.
